Teenagers growing up today are increasingly going down the wrong road, struggling with self-love, experimenting with drugs, self-harming and falling into addiction and even self-destructive behaviour like suicide. It's such a disheartening situation to see young people so affected by these issues, as they should be focused instead on finding their place in life and all the wonderful things that youth has to offer. Unfortunately it can be hard for them to see these things when they're immersed in negative situations or trapped in destructive cycles. But hope stays alive as long as brave individuals reach out for mental health support, challenge stigma and speak out about their struggles – the more we show empathy, encourage self-care and promote clear communication about our own troubles and needs, the greater chance we have of helping those amongst us who find themselves going down the wrong road.
Teenagers often experience great pressure to fit in, and when this pressure is overwhelming self-love can be hard to come by. This can lead to many teens feeling lost and making unwise decisions which may result in drug use, self-inflicted pain, or even addiction and suicide. It's especially daunting for teenagers who are already having difficulties if they don't start making changes soon; it could mean a life downwards spiraling into serious consequences and long-term anguish. To ensure today's youths have a positive outlook on the future, self-love must be prioritized along with teaching empathy, self-awareness, and self-control so that they might escape going down the wrong road.
